Continuing on with the series as a bloke gave some old mags. here are some colour pics from 1976.

The Norths player on the cover pics looks suspiciously like he is going to slug the Wests player.

I love the look on the ballboy's face

CB this is great, we havent many team photos at the moment of the 70s sides, so the more posters the better from this era..

Kevin Marr sandboy. His Dad was a high official at the club at the time, same name I recall. Junior went on to play for the vermin I believe for a season or two.

Bill Wallace the ball boy. I knew him well, last bumped into him a few years back. His Dad also shared the same name as his son.

Back in the days when players didn't shave their bodies or vandalise their skin with ink.

Yes Kevin Marr Snr was Norths president in the late 70's & 80's. I see him each January up at Hawkes Nest. In his eighties but still fit and loves talking about the Bears.

I'm pretty sure Kevin jnr didn't play for Manly. He played plenty of first grade for Norths and finished his career at the Gold Coast. His elder brother Greg played Manly Rugby first grade before playing lower grades at the Bears.

What about the Craven A's coach?

They were the first team supplements in those days......

Rex Murphy I notice in the front row......haven't seen him since a certain AGM.....then again, he wasn't sighted before that AGM either.... Smile

Go the Bears!
