We play Blacktown Workers this weekend for the second time this year. I've had an unanswered query for years about what happened to the system of playing every team once before playing teams for a second time. We haven't played Penrith yet - we play them in rounds 17 and 24.

Our team is on the NS website and a preview on the NSWRL site. I see that Latrell Robinson is named on the wing - is this his first game this season?

South Sydney also plays on Sunday afternoon and has named a 21-man squad, including two players also named by the Bears - Cameron Murray and Jack Gosiewski. The other six on the 8-man bench are Damien Cook, Tyrell Fuimaono, Anthony Cherrington, Zane Musgrove, Braidon Burns and David Tyrell.

I haven't come across any broadcast info for the North Sydney game - Steele Sports isn't covering it. Any word on Triple H as part of its Sunday League program with Tony, James and Mick? The website is at www.triplehfm.com.au.

North Sydney Bears v Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles
North Sydney Oval, Sunday 21 May, 3pm

Rounding out the weekend, the North Sydney Bears host the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles in a clash sure to excite and delight.

Both sides coming off last-start losses, the stakes will be raised as each aims to return to the winners' circle here in Round 11.

The Bears were sprung in their defeat to the Jets, while Blacktown's late resistance against the league leaders gives them a point of hope heading into what looks another tough assessment.

The Workers - with a win, and pending the Wests Tigers' result against Mounties - could leap David Heath's men into 11th, ridding the unwanted tag of sitting at the foot of the competition.

Doesn't look like Triple H is covering the game this week. The show's Facebook page says it's doing the Sydney Shield game between Belrose Eagles and Wentworthville Magpies. www.facebook.com/Triple-H-1001-FM-Sunday-League-446454932096499

It will be Lattrell Robinsons 8th Bears game plus he played in RMC once. He usually played fullback.

Just before half time, I learnt that the game is being broadcast by Hawkesbury Radio - www.hawkesburyradio.com.au. I wish they would publicise these things.

However, North Sydney is trailing 16-0 at half time so maybe it's just as well.

The updated team list at www.northsydneybears.com.au/late-mail-bears-intrust-super-team-face-blacktown-workers-sea-eagles has a few positional changes but not many to the personnel.

In summary, Dane Nielson and Sitiveni Moceidreke have swapped positions, while Clayton Williams (no. 18) and Tom Freebairn (no. 19) have been added to the bench. The NSWRL Match Centre says that the

Some half time chat from the commentators about the time the North Sydney mascot was sent off for making a comment about the referee. They said that Shane Evans was the mascot and he had to front the judiciary.

The Sydney Morning Herald included the incident as no. 65 its 2008 list of "100 reasons we love league" - see www.smh.com.au/news/news/100-reasons-we-love-league/2008/03/07/1204780061519.html:

65 MASCOTS. The kids love them but league mascots are characters in their own right, like Stanley The Steel Avenger, who was once sent off after becoming involved in an on-field brawl, and Barney "The Swearing Bear", who received a four-match ban after calling a referee a "f--king cheat". Of course, the most famous is Reggie The Rabbit, who lived under the grandstand at Redfern Oval.

Full time
Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 22 (4 tries, 3 goals) df
North Sydney Bears 6 (Latrell Robinson try, Eli Levido goal)

From the commentary, it sounded like a disgrace of a performance.

Ah the joys of following the Bears.

You win the first five games and things are looking good. A few games later you realise that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Beat the top sides, then get toppled by the cellar dwellers. Would you change a thing.....

It was a terrible performance.

In the second half Manly had one player sin binned and another sent off. We still didn't look like scoring or making a break against 11 players.

FJ Mauala was named player of the day and can hold his head high.

i guess it makes the successes that much sweeter - prolly why i celebrate the '89 Reserve Grade premiership like it was St Geo's glory years.

was hoping to come down later in the season to catch a game - here's to them righting the ship.
