Joining them on the day will be the Harvey Norman Women facing Wenty Magpies and the Jersey Flegg Cup facing the Wests Tigers.

The Old Bears Association will have their annual reunion and will form a guard of honour when the Bears Intrust Super Premiership side takes the field.

Would love to hear from those at the games what their thoughts are no matter how big or small.

Sadly, I wasnt at the game, but I managed to make it to my local to catch the awesome 2nd half on TV....so glad I did. They really continued the good work from the previous week when I saw them in Newcastle, but this time without the guidance of Farah.

The fullback Kaveinga and the young half Hawkins were sensational, but I was really impressed with the whole squad and the way they played for each other. I mean we have got 19 and 20 yr olds up against hardheaded first graders McQueen, Mcilwrick, Lolohea,Fonua etc

They didnt drop their heads after our comeback was stalled by the Wests "try" to make it 24-16. And how about Vinny Leuluais charge to set up the matchwinning FG...

Stand Aside people there are some serious kids in red and black this year Smile

(I think) the RG team was slightly different from the "finalised team.
1. Kaveinga (doesn't he like to attack! will press for 1st grade on that performance)
2. Hiroti
18 Graham (a real handful, big metres, lots of offloads. First grader soon).
4. Burns
3. Gagan
6. Tracey
7. Hawkins
8. Leuluai
9. Brittain
14. Martin
25. Hunt
12. Kolomatangi
26. Butler

Interchange:
10 Johnstone
16 Freebairn
17. Bailey (not flash but did a lot of work)
30. Rodwell

Plenty of heart in this win. Wests first try on the back of a nothing penalty. Down 18-0 mid first half. Easy conversion of Bears first try was missed. 2nd half Wests last try a few tackles after an apparent Fonua knock on. Down 8 points and not much time left, pure determination got the Bears the win.
A real credit to the whole squad and coaching staff.
