A Sunday game this week, and it's being broadcast on Channel 9, with the telecast starting at 1PM. It's also "Old Bears Day" at North Sydney Oval - I've posted an article below taken from the NS Bears website.

There are three games on at NSO on Sunday:

10:00AM Harvey Norman Women's Rd 4: North Sydney Bears v Newcastle CRL
11:15AM Jersey Flegg Rd 4: North Sydney Bears v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
1:10PM Canterbury Cup Rd 4: North Sydney Bears v Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

Canterbury has a women's team so it's shame that the draws couldn't have been co-ordinated to have a Bears/Bulldogs triple header. Also, women's games are 40 minute halves, so the starting times above (taken from the NSWRL website) might not be right.

In the Canterbury Cup, both Norths and Canterbury are on two wins from three games. The only team they've played in common is Wentworthville - Canterbury lost to them 24-22 in round 2, we beat them 21-20 in round 3.

Match details for this week are:

Celebrate Old Bears Day this Sunday
Bears Admin|April 4, 2019

The North Sydney Bears will be celebrating Old Bears Day when they host the Bulldogs for their first home game this Sunday April 7 at North Sydney Oval.

Old Bears Day presented by Buyrite Steele QLD, will provide lifelong Bears fans an opportunity to watch their team with some Bears legends as former players will be sitting on the hill for the Canterbury Cup NSW match at 1:10pm.

Managing Director of Buyrite Steele QLD, Ben O'Bryan, has a special reason to be supporting the day, "I'm really proud to be supporting Old Bears Day as my father, Dinny O’Bryan, played for the Bears and the club has always been a special part of my family."

Bears CEO David Perry is calling on all past and present fans to come support this unique occasion, "It is an exciting community day for the club, we will have three matches on the day starting with our Women's team playing at 10:00am followed by Jersey Flegg and then finishing with our main event playing in front of our Bears Legends that are watching the match from the hill. It is a great opportunity for Members and fans to put on their old Bears jerseys and enjoy a footy game and a drink with former NRL legends."

The club will also be presenting player medals to former Bears players and family representatives, and will take place prior to the kick off of the main game before the Older Bears form a guard of honour for our current players.

There will be fun for the whole family on the day with jumping castles, face painters and music as well as great giveaways such as unlimited rides family passes to Luna Park.

Gates open at 9:30am, entry is $10 for adults, $5 for concessions and kids under 16 are FREE!

After the match all teams and the Old Bears will be heading back to Norths League Club for presentations and the club would love to see Members and fans to join them.

A couple of changes to the NS starting side:

18. Tom FREEBAIRN in for 13. Nat BUTCHER (who played NRL on Thursday)
19. Curtis JOHNSTON (not originally named) in for 5. Bernard LEWIS

A very impressive first half for the Bears - lots of dynamic attack, backing up and imaginative plays sees NS leading 20-nil at half time, although we do have the help of a strong breeze.

Half time
North Sydney Bears 20 (James Tuitahi 3', Lachlan Lam 21', Curtis Johnston 29', Fletcher Baker 32' tries; Brock Lamb 22', 34' goals) lead
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 0

A great win to the Bears! 42-0. They kept it going in the second half, but it wasn't just the attack. There was some pretty solid defence as well. There were some strong performances today. I don't know all the players which means that some will miss out on credit which they're due. Lam and Lamb combine really well, Deitz was great, Johnston does a lot of work, and Tupouniua was impressive.

Full time
North Sydney Bears 42 (Lachlan Lam 21' 58' 66', James Tuitahi 3', Curtis Johnston 29', Fletcher Baker 32', Bradley Deitz 46', Sitili Tupouniua 70' tries; Brock Lamb 22' 34', 47', 59', Drew Hutchison 67' goals) df
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 0

I think Brock Lamb took the first six conversion attempts (4/6) and Drew Hutchinson took the last two (1/2).
