I'll start by saying that this game was originally listed on the draw as being on Channel 9, possibly in error, but the station is now covering the Western Suburbs v St George Illawarra game. This was announced during last week's telecast and the draw has been updated.

Anyway, another Sunday afternoon game at North Sydney Oval, this time against Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles who are bottom of the table. We beat them 32-12 in round 2 but last week they had a 30-22 win over Souths who started the round on top of the table.

Sydney Roosters play on Saturday afternoon and currently have two reserves, both of whom are listed in the NS squad (indicated below).

I note that former Bear (and fan favourite) Abbas Miski is on the wing for the Sea Eagles. He's had some NRL time with Manly this season.

Match details are below.

Looks we grounded out a hard fought five-tries-to-four come-from-behind win today, 28-24 over Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles. The lead changed four times, and at one stage in the second half, the Bears trailed by eight points. A list of how the scoring is below.

There were some changes to the 17 - positional, personnel, and a couple of numbers:
13. Max BAILEY moved to front row in place of 10. Poasa FAAMAUSILI who played NRL for Sydney Roosters
14. Jerry KEY started at lock (he was originally no. 15)
19. Bradley DEITZ (he was originally no. 14)

The win leaves us in fifth place (20pts), but it's a very congested table - only seven points separate first place (Canterbury, 23pts) from eighth (Warriors, 16pts), with two more teams on 15pts.

We have a bye next week which is worth two points. If Souths beat St George Illawarra, we could go to fourth, and if Mounties have a big win over Penrith, we could even be third.

Our run home is tough with two games against sides currently in the top four, and two games against sides currently in the eight:

Rd 20 Bye
Rd 21 St George Illawarra Dragons (A) (currently 4th, 21pts)
Rd 22 New Zealand Warriors (A) (8th, 16pts)
Rd 23 Penrith Panthers (H) (3rd, 22pts)
Rd 24 Mounties (A) (6th, 19pts)

North Sydney Bears 28 (Brock Lamb 33' 54', Billy Smith 22', Sam Verrills 62', James Tuitahi 74' tries; Brock Lamb 34' 56'63'76' conversions) df
Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 24 (Kane Elgey 27', Tony Williams 38', Lloyd Perrett 41', Denzal Tonise 77' tries; Kane Elgey 28' 39' 42' 78' conversions)
Half time Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles 12-10

The scoring:
NS try - Billy Smith 22' NS 4-0

BT try - Kane Elgey 27'
BT conversion - Kane Elgey 28' BT 6-4

NS try - Brock Lamb 33'
NS conversion - Brock Lamb 34' NS 10-6

BT try - Tony Williams 38'
BT conversion - Kane Elgey 39' BT 12-10

BT try - Lloyd Perrett 41'
BT conversion - Kane Elgey 42' BT 18-10

NS try - Brock Lamb 54'
NS conversion - Brock Lamb 56' BT 18-16

NS try - Sam Verrills 62'
NS conversion - Brock Lamb 63' NS 22-18

NS try - James Tuitahi 74'
NS conversion - Brock Lamb 76' NS 28-18

BT try - Denzal Tonise 77'
