I created a few polls to see who people think should be in the Team of the Century.

It flooded the forum a bit, sorry about that.

Greg Hawick never played prop in his life, at least at first grade level. He was a centre, five eighth and sometime lock. As Captain coach of Norths in the late fifties, I remember him, with the help of Brian Carlson giving it to Manly in a match at NSO Oval in pouring rain. Must look up the score . Greg played for Souths before coming to the Bears and I think he was a member of the winning World Cup Squad in 1957.

Adding to my earlier post, can I quote from the Gregorys guide to Rugby League printed in the early 60's.

"In spite of this great array of talent, Harry Mc Kinnon claims the greatest ever footballer produced in the North Sydney area was Frank Cottle, a player that never made a tour. Cottle seemed certain for selection in 1948 but was injured just before the team was named. A remarkable back that could play centre, five eighth or full back equally well. Cottle was one of the best handlers the game has seen."

This is totally late and i missed it but David Hall is a huge omission from the wingers list.

Simon Brockwell in his prime was definitely a centre.

But i love the concept and have created my best teams over and over with different combinations.

I'd include , from the 80's , the forward STEVE MAYOH.

Norths had a big pack in the 80's when they made the finals under Rom Wiley and he was an important part of it.

I'd choose coach....RON WILLEY.
