The only thing that has changed is that the squad is now even better. The Bears are lucky to have some players join from the Jersey Flegg squad which will strengthen the team even more.

Some more food for thought. Both siosi and george mcdonell played for the Penrith development squad last year. George started every game at fullback while siosi came off the bench. Siosi is a good player but george is better. I thiink there is room for both they should have put one of them on the wing i don't think the wingers that are there are up to the job. Another point one of the trainers of the Jersey Flegg side is the former coach of the Minchinbury U17's JRFLC in Penrith. An awesome team who won 5 straight Grand Finals but interesting to note that siosi, nathan searle and tupo from flegg all played on this team.

They all went with the coach to play Flegg. They could have stayed at Penrith, & played SG Ball. So if they came to Norths to play Flegg & now are going to play SG ball who lied to them, or was this the plan from the start Question If thats the case would Penrith have let them go.

wish them luck yes, it's not the players fault that they & the SG Ball players where lied to. Remember that the SG Ball team was named. What if your son was named in a team then cut for another player. What if Guy Hodgins got cut from Penrith and Norths took him and cut your son would you be happy Question

This is from http://www.qrl.com.au/

NORTH SYDNEY 14 (Fatnowna, Ellis, Trinder tries; Russell goal) beat TWEED HEADS 10 (Jade McDermott, Joe Cudmore tries; Jade McDermott goal).

I don't know which Ellis scored the try or which Russell kicked the goal.

who were the 20 players who took the flight up the coast,

The squad was:
1. John Russell
2. Richard Retimana
3. Andrew Moodie
4. Daniel Watkins
5. Piripi Ranga
6. Daniel Russell
7. Ben Black
8. Aaron Trinder
9. Ben Ellis
10. Michael Harper
11. Chris Saab
12. Reihana Peters
13. Luke Fatnowna

14. Ryan Russell
15. Brad Domek
16. Bede Tuohy
17. Brendan Crabb
21. John Kagi
23. Karl Johnson
25. Eddie Sua

I heard it was a scrappy game with errors from both sides. The Bears were down 10-0 at halftime but came back into the match through good defence and perseverance. Aaron Trinder and Ben Ellis scored tries. Daniel Russell converted the Ben Ellis try.

It was 10-all in the final minutes. Andrew Moodie was pushing a Tweed Heads player over the sideline so he flicked the ball back over his head where another Tweed Heads player tried to kick the ball but missed and Luke Fatnowna picked up the ball and ran 60-70m to score as the final siren went.

A bit more info on the Jersey Flegg trial - Parramatta had 4 Premier League players on the field when the Bears only had two. Also there were a couple of injuries to the Bears one second rower i think and one back. Also Arnold Mano was sin-binned. Also i think a player was injured in the SG Ball trial but didn't see who.

All I know at this stage is he came through uninjured and said he enjoyed the experience very much. Don't know how he went play wise.
