I think it was in Merlin Street North Sydney.

Though it is now been rezoned as Neutral Bay.

and it was the only 2 goals-and 4 points that John O'Connor scored in his first grade career at Norths [admittedly 15 games all up!]

I saw that game and the try happened right in front of where I was standing.
Parramatta were a great side, and the fact that Chris Luckman scored pretty much right on the bell, made it very memorable indeed!
It was a 40m dash for the line also.

The week before they beat St George 39-10 at Bear Park after leading 28-0 at halftime.

Here's a question:

Who scored 3 tries that day?

No, although it was Alan Burns' first grade debut.

It was a centre from Canberra in his first season at Norths.

Then it musthave been the flying Simon Brockwell.

If that was Burns debut he must have had a blinder because i remember
the rugby league week right up.

Brockwell was extremely quick back then.

Correct.

It was a great game. I was there with my Dad.

One of my Dad's mates was at his mother-in-laws' when he heard it was 28-0 at half-time. He said see you later and left his family there and headed out to Bear Park to catch the 2nd half.

Not sure what he copped when he got home.......

Hey guys,
1st time poster. Raiders fan, but always had the Bears as my #2 team and hoping to see them in the comp sooner than later.

I'm doing this quiz comp thing and I one of the questions is Bears related and before my time, so I was hoping someone here might know and help a guy out. The question is;

"Where did the Canberra Raiders play a trial match against North Sydney in 1987?"

So far I have ruled out Seiffert, North Sydney Oval, Wagga Wagga and Tamworth.

Does anyone out here know?

Your assistance would be appreciated
