Chelseabree keep them coming.. love reading the Bears/shoreman..I was watching a DVD which we play at the Bears@Work functions and it has a film piece with Herman in it.. very late in life, maybe around this time.('85)..
Herman 2nd youngest of 4 boys Theodore,1895 ,Otto 1897, Herman 1899. and Karl 1904..I assume German or Austrian decent by the names. to August and Charlotte
also of interest is that this article is out of the Central Coast Express |

No worries- do you have the RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD from early 1969? There was a great 1922 article in there and some other aticles in there about Norths? |

no i don't think i have that one..someone gave me a few old mags recently from late 60s early 70s.. but not that one, if you could put it up i'd appreciate, I'm trying to locate an accurate picture of the 69 jersey..it was a one off, red and black horizontal strip with white number on front.. |

here is the first part of the article. It is quite large and I would have to do it over two posts. let me know if you are enjoying it and would like the rest. I also have a number of articles with Norths I can do from 1969. I have put one about Williams on the 1969 thread that has a picture. I hope you like it.

yes sure just keep putting them up they are great..I see they spelt Hodgins wrong, and I like how the 2 trainers are wearing Norths jerseys also..maybe filling in for the 2 not there in the photo, Edwards and Campbell..also of Interest Ed (tappy) Taplin the Norths stalwart is not in the photo..also how do you like the pants with belt that Frank Rule is wearing in the photo above.and the knee bandages must be for the amount of skin lost on NSO at the time..

OK I went through the 18 rounds of the 1922 season and it seems a few guys who played in this season didn't get a mention in the photos..
the complete list of the 22 season I have found are
E Taplin
C Blinkhorn
H Peters
F rule
H horder
D Hodgins
D Thompson
J Pye
W Hancock
A Faull
J C Ives
R Farnell
C McGrath
N Proctor
V Edwards(round 2)
D Campbell(round 3)
J Baker
G Green
H waterhouse (round 15)
now the team that played on the day in the GF against Glebe wednesday 6/9/22 and beating them 35-3 were
Fullback Norm Proctor;3/4s Harold horder,Herman peters, Frank rule,Cec Blinkhorn 1/2s Dallas Hodgins,Duncan thompson, forwards Wally Hancock,George Green,Jack baker,James Pye,J.Clarrie Ives,Reg Farnell.. reserves.. I'll have to find from the library..
the city cup was incorporated into the premiership comp, at half way through the season.. what they did in 1921, they had 2 seperate comps, with the City cup starting after round 9 of the premiership comp.. in 1922 they combined the two
The City Cup final also won by North sydney in 1922 was played out between Norths and the Easts . final score 18-11
players for the shoreman on the day.16.9.1922
Fullback H waterhouse;3/4s W Murphy;H Peters;A Steel;C Blinkhorn;1/2s D Hodgins;D thompson, Forwards J Baker;G Green;J Pye;J.C Ives;R Farnell; A Faull, reserves I have to find.. |

AH you liked that -OK here is some pages from a book from 1935 which had histories of the clubs. Here is Norths. If you like it there is a also list of players from 1935- Norths made the semis- with information about each and sometimes a picture.
