Is this game definitely on Sunday 14th August (3PM) as shown on the NS website (www.northsydneybears.com.au/bea-nswcupfixtures.html)? The NSWRL website doesn't have a date or time (www.nswrl.com.au/intrust-super-premiership-nsw/results.23.html).

I'm trying to organise my travel plans.

Having said that, NS has lost all four games I've attended this year, so there could be an argument for me staying away.

Thanks Serendipity. I subsequently saw the e-mail that the football club sends to members.

I haven't seen the Cutters at NSO, only at WIN Stadium no. 2, so I'm hoping to get there.

Bears Still In Finals Fight Despite Loss
Mosman Daily
11 August 2016

Quote:
The Bears were aiming for three consecutive wins, but lost by eight points to the Magpies last weekend.

Wentworthville beat North Sydney 28-20 in Round 22 of the NSW Rugby League ISP Cup at Ringrose Park.

Bears general manager Greg Florimo said it was a tough match. "We played quite well and were in the game up until the 75th minute," he said.

"We did have the weight of possession in the first half."

Florimo said the Bears fought their way back in the second half and led at the 65th minute, but made a costly mistake which the Magpies capitalised on.

The Bears play the Illawarra Cutters at North Sydney Oval on Sunday, which they must win to keep their finals chances alive. "It's right on a knife-edge at the moment," Florimo said.

Abbas has been in the starting wing since Round 10 and on the wing since Round 11. He was inside centre in Rounds 1 and 2, and 5/8 in Round 10. Between Rounds 3 and 10 he played at least a couple of games for Asquith.

The HHH League team continues to give the best in grass roots footy this weekend!!

HHH's Rugby League Team Keep Up Great Grass Roots Footy Coverage This Weekend - By Returning For One Last Time This Year To Beautiful North Sydney Oval For Another Classic Double Header!!

Sunday's double header starts with the vital Sydney Shield game between the Peninsula Seagulls and the Hills District Bulls at 1:00pm - straight after "Lucy In The Loop"!!

This match gives the Seagulls the opportunity to tune up for another massive finals campaign now that they are settled inside the all important Sydney Shield Top 4.

For the Bulls, the match is critical - and is a must win game to keep their faint Finals hopes alive as they start a tough run of 3 games in the next 7 days.

This makes this first game fo the double header a match not to be missed!!

Then comes Sunday's main event - the crucial Intrust Super Premiership (formerly NSW Cup) match between the North Sydney Bears and the Illawarra Cutters at 3:00pm!!

The Bears are now locked in a backs to the wall struggle to make the Intrust Super Premiership Top 8 - and need to win this match on Sunday to keep their spot in the competition's elite group.

That will be extremely tough against the classy Cutters outfit who are not only entrenched in the Top 4 - but can still possibly snare the Minor Premership with wins in their last 3 games of the year - starting with a dsiposal of the Bears on Sunday.

Can the Bears survive? - Or will the Cutters mow them down to put them in their place? Tune in on Sunday to find out.

Join Tony "The Sultan" Dosen. "Kiwi" Mick Reynish and the rest of the HHH League Team as they start their coverage from North Sydney Oval at 12:55pm on Sunday afternoon - straight after "Lucy In The Loop" for the best of local grass roots rugby league!!

North Sydney Bears v Illawarra Cutters
North Sydney Oval, Sunday 14 August
3pm
Referee: Jon Stone
Touch Judges: Mark Bohan, Jimmy Oliveira

Quote:
Sitting in eighth position, the result for the North Sydney Bears is vital this Sunday when they host the in-form Illawarra Cutters as North Sydney Oval.

Along with the previously mentioned Panthers and Roos, the Bears sit on 24 competition points, with the Magpies hot on their tail.

For a team that has next to zero NRL games to their name, they are certainly performing in the competition, and the match against the second-placed Cutters is a huge test for their finals hopes.

If Mounties lose their next three games, the Cutters can take the minor premiership, but given how unlikely that is, their aim will certainly be to remain in the top two by the end of Round 25.

Alike the Bears, they have team hot on their tail vying for second spot, which makes the contest this week all the more exciting.

Josh McCrone and Drew Hutchinson are the control-men for the Cutters side, while Eli Levido and Brad Deitz have been in scintillating form for the Bears in 2016.
