Gone disappointingly quiet sorry RHB I'm searching daily for any updates... Was as proud as I've been in years when the news broke and Perry Lopez stood up to Souths bully tactics... Really hope it wasn't fake news and we see TC in red and black soon 🐻🏈

I think once Souths said he wouldn't be considered for NRL Carney was no longer interested as he's looking for a way back to the NRL.

Souths didn't bully anyone, and Norths can sign who they like

In my opinion, Norths have stuffed up here.

1. Perry Lopez should have never announced that Todd Carney would be playing for the Bears against Wentworthville, until he had ensured that Carney was cleared from his previous club. This is a fundamental process which was neglected by Bears management. As it stands, Northern Pride is standing firm on a release fee.

2. Norths have conceded control to Souths over a number of years. Norths management have preferred to allow Souths run the Bears ISP team. Hence the Norths coach, Shane Millard is really a Souths appointment, despite Norths paying his salary. Millard and Seibold are close mates. Even if Norths were able to sign Carney had have him registered, then I believe that Millard would not pick him. Norths error is that, they did not ensure that the Norths coach would act in the best interest of the Bears.

Norths only stood up to the Carney matter, because they knew that Souths want to leave the partnership in at the end of 2019, when the current feeder club deal ends.

Norths would have never stood up to Souths, if they thought Souths wanted to continue the partnership.

Payments Norths have made to Souths over the past few years are:-
2017 - $91,900
2016 - $93,921
2015 - $48,200
2014 - $23,300
2013 - $20,600
No other feeder club is paying there NRL feeder club any money. Only Norths are, and we have never stood up to Souths about this. Members have complained to the directors about this year after year at Bears AGM, and Bears directors don't care about paying Souths.

Norths over the past 5 years, are worst performing NSW Cup team. We have the least amount of wins out of all the teams.

Season 2018, has been a disaster. The Norths ISP team is full of players young players (19 year olds) who are not put to a open age standard. Norths have done nothing about it.

Sadly, the North Sydney Bears are a shell of what the club used to be.
