I see some mixed signals with the team this week. Matt Ikuvalu is named on the wing for both the Roosters and Bears. Brett Morris is listed as a reserve for the chooks only, with Lachie Lam listed as a chooks reserve and our starting half.

I suppose we'll find out tonight what our team might look like on Sunday.

5. Bernard LEWIS
6. Lachlan LAM (named as no. 20 for Sydney Roosters, and starting on the bench)
7. Brock LAMB
8. Poasa FAAMAUSILI (named as no. 18 for Sydney Roosters, and starting on the bench)
9. Bradley DEITZ
10. Max BAILEY
11. Fletcher BAKER
12. Thomas FREEBAIRN (c)
13. Jerry KEY

14. Sam VERRILLS

Faamausili and Lam both played less than 15 mins for Easts so will be eligible to back up....I'd assume Collins and Hutch will be added too....Tuponuia and Hall out injured so we wont get them....maybe Curtis will come in for Ikuvalu on wing

As it turned out, neither Faamausili or Lam played for the Bears, although Hutchinson and Collins did, as did Curtis Johnston. I note that Josh Curran played for the Warriors, and got sin-binned in the 76th minute, along with Brad Dietz, and followed by Brock Lamb in the 79th.

The three changes were:

19. Curtis JOHNSTON (replacing 2. Matthew IKUVALU)
20. Drew HUTCHINSON (replacing 6. Lachlan LAM)
22. Lindsay COLLINS (replacing 8. Poasa FAAMAUSILI)

The final score was a 32-10 win to the Warriors. The scoring suggests it was an even first half, but that Norths fell away in the second. The scoring went as follows:

NS try - Tom Freebairn 11' - NS 4-0

Warr try - Setu Tu 19'
Warr conversion - Adam Keighran 20' - Warriors 6-4

Warr try - Issac Luke 42'
Warr conversion - Adam Keighran 43' - Warriors 12-4

Warr try - Adam Pompey 50'
Warr conversion - Adam Keighran 52' - Warriors 18-4

Warr try - Chanel Harris-Tavita 54'
Warr conversion - Adam Keighran 55' - Warriors 24-4

NS try - James Tuitahi 64'
NS conversion - Brock Lamb 65' - Warriors 24-10

Warr try - Setu Tu 69'
Warr conversion - Adam Keighran 70' - Warriors 30-10

Warr penalty goal - Adam Keighran 79' - Warriors 32-10

New Zealand Warriors 32 (Setu Tu 19' 69', Issac Luke 42', Adam Pompey 50', Chanel Harris-Tavita 54' tries; Adam Keighran 20' 43' 52' 55' 70' conversions; Adam Keighran 79' penalty goal) df
North Sydney Bears 10 (Tom Freebairn 11', James Tuitahi 64' tries; Brock Lamb 65' conversion)

We are still in the eight, although are starting to lose touch with the top five sides (which are separated by just two points), and the sides behind us are putting on some pressure:

19 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
18 St George Illawarra Dragons (+116)
18 South Sydney Rabbitohs (+58)
18 Penrith Panthers (+42)
-----
17 Mounties
14 Western Suburbs Magpies (+13)
14 North Sydney Bears (-19)
13 Newtown Jets
-----
12 Wentworthville Magpies (-5)
12 New Zealand Warriors (-27)
8 Newcastle Knights
5 Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles

We play Western Suburbs next Sunday at Campbelltown. The game will be broadcast by Channel 9.

Referee Damian Briscoe had another shocker. He consistently stood back 13m when the bears were defending. I lost count of the number of unchecked foward passes isaac Luke threw from dummy half. And it was open season on cheap shots from the Warriors, resulting in several injuries.
No wonder the bears were penalised for dissent and Brock Lamb sinbinned near the end; no doubt for questioning Briscoe's integrity.
